We had a terrible experience with Homemoovers. We were moving quite some distance so really wanted to be sure they had enough room for all our belongings, hence we asked them to double check they had enough space, they didn’t revisit but said no problem they had contingencies including more vans and storage. On teh day it didn’t all fit and no additional help was offered they just left it all on the drive for us to emergency rehome on the spot as the buyers of our house moved in – very stressful. Fortunately lovely neighbours helped however we had to hire a van to drive a 6 hour round trip to recover this, at our cost.
On arrival all our efforts to carefully mark which boxes went where were ignored, they stacked everything in the garage and living room in complete chaos. Food items were in the garage worryingly, the wardrobe they wouldn’t bring upstairs, they ripped the BBQ cover quite deliberately in front of me. In the end my husband and myself carried things in to avoid further damage.
Unfortunately some boxes clearly marked fragile had been dumped by them and precious pictures and bathroom cabinet were smashed and broken. Again we had to reframe these at our cost, and some things were unique and unreplaceable.
We complained but this was ignored, over and over again, even with registered post, they wouldn’t take calls only emails and ignored the emails for 4 months. When we insisted they spoke to us on the phone the very rude woman just talked right over us saying the claim was rejected we hadn’t packed correctly (to break those wooden picture frames it would have to have taken some impact!)
Interestingly when we left a poor review on google they tried to get it pulled within minutes so I suspect this is a practiced routine.
All we asked for was reframing and van costs- not even fuel, we feel very betrayyed by what looks like a 5 star company.
Please don’t fall foul to this company, save your hard earned money for someone genuine.
